I have a dirty secret, hidden from the world, encased where nobody can find it.
A parts car. Fully intact, despite the body damage I incurred trying to enter the truck.
I named her Phoenix, for she will rise again..... If my grandfather doesn't junk it. We found out that it does actually run, the only issue is that the Fuel isn't going into the engine. It's a sad strange story how this happened.
Three or four years ago one of my Uncles gave it to my grandfather to give to me, it still ran, it just needed a waterpump. I had no money and no license. I chose Harla Rei because she was in my backyard, and getting to this car would have been a week long endeavor. I never actually got parts from it. and frankly I'm considering just getting this on the road.
I love the smell of Starter fluid in the morning.

That pleading sound of a starter saying, "This engine can run, I can prove it to you, please do not give up on us".

Please stop turning that key said the forlorn starter.

My first thought:
If you've never seen that part before, a fix may be as simple as pressing a button.

Hey, you cant be any crazier than me. I bought a $400 SHO on Craigslist, (shenanigans ensue, see here, http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/guysguysguys-1… )
I was going to pull the engine for a crazy idea that i had that involved a '77 Capri and an Aerostar transmission, but I'm and idiot, so Im keeping the SHO. It has no brakes, the door panels are missing, and it smells like something died in the trunk.
Make it run. Don't think, just do.

That explains the trunk damage, my uncle had the wrong key for the trunk and we couldn't get it open. We took out the backseat, but the dark hole full of cobwebs didn't look friendly.

Nice key. Looks exactly like my Ford Tempo key.

she may just be a parts car, but might I still suggest tossing a bucket of soapy water over her? and perhaps moving her back and forth occasionally so she doesnt sink into the mud?
